Tony-winning director Julie Taymor will discuss her stage, screen and opera career at New York’s 92Y on November 17 in a conversation with actor Harry Lennix. The event will include clips from her productions. The Lion King director recently won acclaim for her mounting of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Theatre for a New Audience’s new home in Brooklyn.
Lennix, who starred in Taymor’s film Titus, made his Broadway debut in August Wilson’s Radio Golf and currently stars as FBI counterterrorism honcho Harold Cooper on NBC’s The Blacklist.
The press announcement of Taymor’s 92Y appearance includes Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark in her credits list, so she may well discuss the show with Lennix, as well as the Metropolitan Opera’s forthcoming holiday revival of her production of Mozart's The Magic Flute.
